Building the golden thread: Site data capture and quality assurance on MCFC north stand extension

Manchester City FC North Stand Development showcases how digital construction can transform the delivery of complex projects within live operational environments. The project adopted a digital-first delivery strategy where the team integrated more than 95 federated BIM models with Augmented Reality, reality capture, digital quality assurance, BIM-linked progress tracking and Power BI analytics to create a single source of truth throughout design and construction. Over 1,736 digital sitewalks and continuous as-built verification supported the successful delivery of the project. The approach enabled enhanced quality assurance by building the golden thread of information, contributing to the successful opening of the North Stand for Manchester City’s final Premier League home fixture, now known as the Pep Guardiola Stand.
