Biography

Catharine Dass is a Client Architect at UK Parliament, specialising in the integration of heritage conservation and digital technology. She was among the first to introduce a formal heritage digital-information requirement within UK Parliament, and has led the development of machine-readable classification standards for heritage assets – working with NBS to create new codes for historic items that had no place in standard BIM classification systems, from architectural fabric to museum-grade objects, in collaboration with Historic England and Middlesex University.

Her work spans major Parliamentary Estate conservation programmes, embedding structured conservation data into 3D models to support long-term asset management and decision-making. Catharine was named a TechWomen100 Award winner in 2022, with shortlistings for the WICE and AWA Awards the same year. She is currently pursuing an MPhil/PhD researching digital technology in heritage conservation and resilient asset management at Middlesex University.
